Who I Am
In the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) I am known as Sandro dei Strozzi da Montefeltro. I have been in the SCA since 2014. I was first exposed to the SCA many years before by a family friend, but the lack of a local group meant I didn't have a good way to get involved.
Once I finally got involved, I began serving as a Herald for tournaments, calling the names of those who would be fighting, as well as announcing the winners. Not long after joining, I found myself in the company of a well-respected cook. This would have a strong influence on my studies in the SCA.
Beyond my work as a Herald, I also study the science of medieval food preservation. Throughout my work, I've made simple vinegar-based pickles to sausages, and more complicated foodstuffs like prosciutto. The ways people have kept food for long periods of time has become a topic of great fascination, and I hope to continue learning as much as I can about it.
